American Girl stories were the best tbh

Dude, read the books, she and her mom freed themselves in Book 1. We donā€™t disrespect American Girl in this house 


Donā€™t you dare disrespect Addy, or any of my girls for that matter. American Girl used to be legit. Good stories, good dolls, good movies. 


Felicityā€™s story was set in the beginnings of the American Revolution, and addressed the conflict that she faced when her loved ones were split between patriots and loyalists. It also covered the effects of animal abuse, and forgiving those who are unforgivable. 
Samanthaā€™s stories centered around the growth of industrial America, womenā€™s suffrage, child abuse, and corruption in places of power. Also, it emphasises how dramatically adoption into a caring family can turn a life around. 
Kitā€™s story is one of my favorites. Her family is hit hard by the Great Depression, and they begin taking in boarders and raise chickens to help make ends meet. Her books include themes of poverty, police brutality, homelessness, prejudice, and the importance of unity in difficult times. 
Mollyā€™s father, a doctor, is drafted during the Second World War. Throughout her story, friends of hers suffer the loss of their husbands, sons, and brothers overseas. Her mother leaves the traditional housewife position and works full-time to help with the war effort. They also take in an English refugee child, who learns to open up after a life of traumatic experience. 
American Girl stories have always featured the very harsh realities of America through the years. But theyā€™re always presented honestly, yet in ways that kids can understand. They just go to show that you donā€™t have to live in a perfect time to be a real American girl.

And then there are the later dolls, that kids younger than me would have grown up with (I was just outgrowing American Girl as these came out), like Rebecca, the Jewish girl who dreams of becoming an actress in the budding film industry, orĀ 

Julie, who fights against her schoolā€™s gender policy surrounding sports in the 70s, orĀ 

Nanea, the Hawaiian girl whose father worked at Pearl Harbor.
These books, these characters, are fantastic pictures into life for girls in America throughout the years, they pull no punches with the horrors that these girls had to face in their different time periods, and in many cases I learned more history from these series than social studies at school. And thatā€™s without even mentioning the ā€œgirl of the yearā€ series where characters are created in the modern world to help girls deal with issues like friend problems, moving, or bullying. We do NOT disrespect American Girl in this house.


American Girl is probably going to be the only exposure young girls are going to get to history from a female perspective. This is actually kind of important considering that in history classes we dont really get that exposure. We dont hear about what women felt and endured during these time periods cause schools are too busy teaching us about what happened from the male perspective, which is not unimportant, but we need both. Girls need both.



These books were such a crucial part of my childhood and shaped my love of history, which still ensures today. These books can be a young girlā€™s first  lessons in diversity and cultural awareness (hopefully burying that insensitive ā€œweā€™re all Americansā€ tripe) and looking at history from more perspectives than just that taught in school. They also are an example of how women have ALWAYS been part of history, which some people would rather us not believe.
I think Kit and Kaya were the newest American Girls when I started ā€œaging outā€ of the books, but hearing about some of these kinda makes me want to revisit them!

Man of steel is fucked.

One is a horrifying unstoppable murder monster that smashes buildings and kills all who oppose it while laughing off the pitiful weapons humanity throws at it and never once stops to consider the value of the human lives that get caught in the wake of its titanic battles for supremacy.
The other is Godzilla.

Iā€™d hate to say it, you guys, but Godzilla probably wouldnā€™t win that fight.

Probably not, not.Ā  At some point Godzilla would try to avoid killing innocent bystanders, at which point Superman would make the kill shot in a way that forces Godzillaā€™s corpse to fall onto and crush as many fleeing human beings as possible.Ā  Superman would then toss the carcass into a dozen or so more buildings, specifically aiming for those that are still inhabited by trapped people, and maybe drag the corpse through the rubble just in case a few humans clung onto life despite their grievous wounds before finally leaving the carcass on a school or hospital to rot and fester - or maybe in the water supply to ensure the maximum amount of people can be exposed to whatever diseases result.
Then heā€™d threaten the military not to cross him again before making a terrible sex joke at Amy Adams.

Iā€™m sorry to say, but you got both of these characters COMPLETELY backwards.

No, Godzilla does go out of his way to avoid hurting innocent bystanders - at least in the 2014 movie, which is the version shown in the picture above.Ā  Godzilla tries his best to avoid going through the Golden Gate bridge, avoids swimming through navy ships, and even tries to walk around buildings rather than through them when fighting the wicked mutos.Ā  And he does it in a few other movies, too - one time that stands out to me occurs in the original Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla he actually leads the evil MechaGodzilla away from the city into the wilderness before having a brutal match.
So yeah, Iā€™d say I have them pretty spot on.

I think the reason he doesnā€™t go through buildings because that would be fucking stupid. Also he didnā€™t seem to care enough when he started smashing the golden gate bridge with the bus full of children on it when the military attacked him. Or how about the time he flooded all of Hawaii? Heā€™s not consciously protecting humans because all he cares about is killing the MUTOS. He most likely fights them for territory which would kind of make sense as to why he would want to be killed by Superman in the first place

Godzilla was knocked into the bridge by those missiles.Ā  Thereā€™s a difference between stumbling into something when someone pushes you into it and purposely knocking that thing over.Ā  What happened with Godzilla and the bridge was the former - he actually spent a good chunk of time avoiding the bridge and blocking it from the missiles with his body before he was finally forced through it.Ā  Thatā€™s not Godzillaā€™s fault, thatā€™s the militaryā€™s.
2. Godzilla didnā€™t mean to flood Hawaii - he probably wasnā€™t even aware of how the water was being displaced.Ā  Itā€™s destructive, sure, but itā€™s not something he could avoid.Ā  Itā€™s not the same as, say, a super powered murderer tackling another super powered murderer through a cornfield into a populated area like some kind of sociopath.

The elbow joint on average rests a couple inches higher than the navel, so if you measure how long the distance is from the middle of the shoulder to that point then you have the length of the upper and fore arms!

So if anyoneā€™s wondering about legs too, the simplest rule of thumb is that the length from the top of the leg to the knee is equal to the distance between the top of the leg and the bottom of the pectorals:
And I wanna stress that when i sayĀ ā€œtop of the legā€ iā€™m not talking about the crotch (please donā€™t flag me tumblr itā€™s an anatomical term) iā€™m talking about the point where the femur connects to the pelvis, which is higher up on the hips:

So yeah if you use that measurement when using this technique you should get fairly realistically proportioned legs:

Who the fuck got trophies?? I got a piece of paper saying Participation on it with a cheap-ass shiny sticker in the corner!

Sometimes they were ribbons.

Sometimes they were just the gnawing awareness that you could never trust any praise an adult gave you.

When I was in 7th grade, the administration at my middle school decided to make a bunch of changes to pep rallies, including changing the spirit award to the grade that showed the most school spirit to three spirit awards SO THAT EACH GRADE COULD HAVE ONE.
We decided in about 2.5 seconds that this was fucking stupid and that it was pointless to have a school-wide spirit contest IF NO ONE WAS ACTUALLY ABLE TO WIN. Our entire grade organized ourselves and boycotted the pep rally in protest. We still went to the pep rally, but the entire 7th grade sat quietly in the bleachers and refused to cheer or otherwise participate.
AND IT INFURIATED THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION. INFURIATED THEM.
They ended up giving one spirit award to the 8th grade and two spirit awards to the 6th grade. At which point, our entire grade stood up and cheered, and the principal screamed into her microphone that we needed to sit down and stop cheering.
Because we hadnā€™t broken any school rules, the administration realized they couldnā€™t punish us, and they changed back to one spirit award and got rid of the other unpopular pep rally changes. But they never forgave us. The principal saved up all of her anger for a year and a half and then called a specialĀ ā€œpromotion ceremony rehearsalā€ for our grade right before we graduated from middle school specifically so that she could spend an hour yelling at us about how THIS WAS NOT FOR US, THIS WAS FOR OUR PARENTS AND OUR TEACHERS AND THE ADMINISTRATION AND THE SCHOOL, AND IF WE FUCKED THE CEREMONY UP IN ANY WAY, SO HELP HER, SHE WOULD MAKE OUR LIVES A LIVING HELL.Ā 
So, yeah, tell me again about how my generation expects trophies for participating. I dare you.

Someone somewhere has a great post about how all Millennials learned from this ā€œeverybody gets a trophyā€ culture foisted on us was to distrust conventional feedback methods (if everybody gets one, the system must be wrong and someone who tells me Iā€™m good at something is probably lying). So the fact that weā€™re a generation filled with insecure overachievers with a well-documented lack of interest in conventional life markers is partly due to all those stupid participation trophies.

 cranberries grow. Once they're ripe, the blog is
 flooded and the cranberries harvested.
 Basically by using big floaty things to round them all
 up and then scooping them out of the water.

 harvesting i never heard about anywhere else. the
 guy who owns the restaurant right down the road
 from the farm, who fries our chickens sometimes, is
 from Boston, with the strongest Boston accent ever,
 and in a former life before he started slinging
 reasonably priced barbeque and occasional organic
 chicken, he was a cranberry farmer.
 His farm was on the leading edge of kinda using
 organic/sustainable pest control methods, and one
 of the things that they did to keep insect damage
 down was that they encouraged wolf spiders to live
 in the cranberry field, to eat the bugs.
 This was all fine and good until they flooded the bog
 Now, you don't just like flood the bog and then go
 around it in a boat or whatever. No, you use hip
 waders to get in there and put the big floaty things
 where they go and get all the berries and such.
 Well when you're in the bog in hip waders, that
 makes you the tallest thing. Wolf spiders can swim a
 bit, but they don't like it, so they're, quite
 understandably, looking to climb out of the water
 onto a tall thing.
 So yeah the first interview question he always asked
 potential cranberry bog harvester hires was "are you
 cool with spiders?"
 "You'd be amazed," he said to us, shaking his head a
 little, "how many guys would just straight lie. Like,
 you think I'm asking you that question to be cute?
 Nah man you're gonna have like a hundred wolf
 spiders trying to climb your eyebrows, you gotta be
 chill, those wolf spiders are fellow employees. You
 really gotta be chill with spiders if you're gonna work
 a cranberry harvest."

Runes! This was an assignment to create a set of flashcards that would appeal to kids and adults for my Type 1 class. They each have the rune symbol, the name of the rune, the meaning in English, the meaning (roughly translated by google, thanks google) in Norwegian, and a little icon I made. I made the big rune characters, but the display font is Comic Runes by takuminokami on Font Space (thanks internet). The cards are 3 inches by 4.5 inches.Ā 
Also please donā€™t yell at me if the meanings of these are wrong, my research was not particularly scholarly. (Once again, thanks internet :p)Ā

Awesome! Quick question: are runes part of a closed culture? 

No, these runes here are the Elder Futhark, used as a writing system in the area that would be Scandinavia/Northern Germanic region. The names are Proto-Germanic reconstructions, so yeah, the culture that used these are very very dead. Similar runes were used by the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings (the Anglo-Saxons added a bunch of runes and the Vikings used less runes and some different ones and this was centuries later). The reason we know the ā€œmeaningsā€ and names of the runes at all is because of a handful of rune poems that were initially used as mnemonic devices to remember them. The actual system of divination and magic via Elder Futhark runes is very modern and goes back to ~the 60s I believe? Thereā€™s some archeological evidence that runes may have been used for more than just a writing system, and the Havamal (old important morality poem for heathens) mentions that Odin hung on the world tree and sacrificed himself to himself and returned with knowledge of the runes. It also discusses that runes can be used for magic (though it doesnā€™t get into which runes or how to do the magic).So, to me personally, it does seem a bit weird to use the runes as just another divination tool without using them in context of the spiritual/religious paradigm they are connected to, but there are a lot of people that do and seem to have success with it. And Iā€™d be cautious with getting into using them unless youā€™re willing to suddenly have Northern Germanic gods busting down your door whether you like it or not. Though feeling a pull toward the runes in general may mean they already have you.

Runes! This was an assignment to create a set of flashcards that would appeal to kids and adults for my Type 1 class. They each have the rune symbol, the name of the rune, the meaning in English, the meaning (roughly translated by google, thanks google) in Norwegian, and a little icon I made. I made the big rune characters, but the display font is Comic Runes by takuminokami on Font Space (thanks internet). The cards are 3 inches by 4.5 inches.Ā 
Also please donā€™t yell at me if the meanings of these are wrong, my research was not particularly scholarly. (Once again, thanks internet :p)Ā

Awesome! Quick question: are runes part of a closed culture? 

No, these runes here are the Elder Futhark, used as a writing system in the area that would be Scandinavia/Northern Germanic region. The names are Proto-Germanic reconstructions, so yeah, the culture that used these are very very dead. Similar runes were used by the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings (the Anglo-Saxons added a bunch of runes and the Vikings used less runes and some different ones and this was centuries later). The reason we know the ā€œmeaningsā€ and names of the runes at all is because of a handful of rune poems that were initially used as mnemonic devices to remember them. The actual system of divination and magic via Elder Futhark runes is very modern and goes back to ~the 60s I believe? Thereā€™s some archeological evidence that runes may have been used for more than just a writing system, and the Havamal (old important morality poem for heathens) mentions that Odin hung on the world tree and sacrificed himself to himself and returned with knowledge of the runes. It also discusses that runes can be used for magic (though it doesnā€™t get into which runes or how to do the magic).So, to me personally, it does seem a bit weird to use the runes as just another divination tool without using them in context of the spiritual/religious paradigm they are connected to, but there are a lot of people that do and seem to have success with it. And Iā€™d be cautious with getting into using them unless youā€™re willing to suddenly have Northern Germanic gods busting down your door whether you like it or not. Though feeling a pull toward the runes in general may mean they already have you.

this is the funniest thing Iā€™ve ever seen in my life

This is - legitimately - my favourite delivery of Shakespeare I have EVER seen (and I have seen some good-ass productions yo, in the Globe Theatre itself even). Like seriously, even though the words are unchanged, heā€™s stripped away ALL of the archaic pretense and assumed grandeur of ~presenting the bard~ that makes even the most wildly talented of actors and innovative of productions inherently inaccessible to a modern audience. Like, theyā€™re still great, they can still communicate the message and (some) of the nuance, but theyā€™re still always a step removed from being identifiable to any viewerā€™s lived experience. Theyā€™re still always reciting 15th century poetry. But this guy? This guy is like, screw iambic pentameter, to hell with being precious about the material, HOW WOULD AN ACTUAL PERSON SAY THIS SHIT?
Like this. And itā€™s beautiful. Itā€™s beautiful to hear a soliloquy I loved so much already, and have it come to life in a way it never, ever, did before. I feel like I grasp his motivations, his twists and turns, no longer on an academic level but on a visceral, instinctive one. Because heā€™s presenting his mental and emotional journey in a way that speaks honestly, like a real person.
So yeah, this shit post? I love it. Deeply and sincerely.

Okay but for anyone who legit wants to know how to calculate it correctly:
The elbow joint on average rests a couple inches higher than the navel, so if you measure how long the distance is from the middle of the shoulder to that point then you have the length of the upper and fore arms!

So if anyoneā€™s wondering about legs too, the simplest rule of thumb is that the length from the top of the leg to the knee is equal to the distance between the top of the leg and the bottom of the pectorals:
And I wanna stress that when i sayĀ ā€œtop of the legā€ iā€™m not talking about the crotch (please donā€™t flag me tumblr itā€™s an anatomical term) iā€™m talking about the point where the femur connects to the pelvis, which is higher up on the hips:

So yeah if you use that measurement when using this technique you should get fairly realistically proportioned legs:
But remember! messing with proportions is an important and fun part of character design! Know the rules first so you can then break them however you please!

HOW TO WRITE 20 PAGES (from one girl w/mental illness 2 the rest of u, but please keep in mind all of this is just personal Stuff That Worked for me n u might be different):
first of all, and probably most importantly, make that paper about something you actually give a shit about. if you can write an essay on how long shakespeareā€™s dick is when youā€™re talking to your friends, thatā€™s a good topic. donā€™t choose something u donā€™t care about, you will Want To Die
ā€œokay but the only topics are ones i donā€™t care aboutā€ talk 2 ur teacher 99% of the time if youā€™re likeĀ ā€œhereā€™s a well-thought-out thesis can i talk about this insteadā€ theyā€™re likeĀ ā€œsure lmao i just couldnā€™t think of other paper topics to suggestā€
ā€œthey said noā€ cool find the one u hate the least and try to tie it into something u like. for example i really hated this stupid paper i had to write about a stupid book so i ended up writing about the food insideĀ the book and whether or not it was a historically accurate depiction of food. turns out i fucking love talking about food. i also remade some of the old recipes and brought them in as part of the presentation of my project and people went fuckken nuts bc BREAD. basically i thought aboutĀ ā€œwhat motivates me? uh foodā€ and followed that. it was a 45-page book about bread and i looked like a really good student when really i just love bread (somewhere, oprah smiles over me)
the 20-pagers are the ones you Actually Cannot Do the night before. i know we all got real fuckken cocky back in hs when we learned how to do 5 pages in one night w/out trying too hard but 1. as a teacher now i can tell u for sure that teachersĀ do knowĀ you rushed it, we just Donā€™t Care bc Weā€™re Not Paid Enough and 2. twenty pages is not the same thing. you need to actuallyĀ take the time to do it. this is the actualĀ version ofĀ ā€œyouā€™re not in hs anymoreā€ DONT lie to yourself and thinkĀ ā€œitā€™s fine iā€™ll do it in one dayā€ you will !! Regret it!!!!Ā

i lie to myself all the time and move the deadline up. i write it in my agenda as at least 2 days before itā€™s due. surprise!!! i tricked u, self!!! you canā€™t procrastinate!!Ā 
agendas/planners need to be what actually worksĀ for you. i liked to prioritize w/colors + keep lists. i really love crossing things offĀ lists. itā€™s likeā€¦ a balm. for me, i usually say i have to finish the first 2 things, start the 3rd thing, andĀ ā€œtouchā€ at least half the list. if i finish the whole list i get a prize. also i get to cross off everything which is so satisfying iā€™m sure itā€™s someoneā€™s idea of a rush. thereā€™s so manyĀ ā€œhow toā€ documents on these that i wonā€™t get into it but frankly?? if you donā€™t write it down you will not remember it.Ā ā€œyes i willā€ no you wonā€™t greg. just do it. write it down. write it where u can see it. not there, greg. greg, somewhere good.Ā my friend is smart af and uses a post-it on her laptop. that doesnā€™t work for me bc i can just? use my hand to cover the anxiety? so choose somewhere good greg.
nervous system, skeleton, meat, skin. nervous system is the thesis. skeleton is quotes/data. meat is the analysis of that data. skin is the fancy transitions + beautification. Ā meat goes on both sides of bone, and skin goes all around. nervous system has to touch everything. do what your teachers have been begging u to do since 3rd grade and start w/an outline. do this whileĀ you read/research. i usually have a starter thesis likeĀ ā€œlady macbeth is a feminist ICONā€ then take the quotes i think fit. but if while youā€™re reading u realize u wanna talk about the use of feminine language and how shakespeare parallels daintiness w/sharpness, u still have a bunch of quotes you can use or not use. this works also w/research papers. just pull what u think is something u wanna talk about. copy-paste it but leave a link to where u got it. then put a bullet point under that says roughly why u mention it
if you just write the outline like youā€™re keeping notes to yourself youā€™d be amazed how quickly you write the essay bc we get stuck in academic language but itā€™s easier to translateĀ ā€œthis is why bees are the #bombā€ into a paragraph. i mean you just rewrite your notes to yourself in academic speech.Ā ā€œThe above passage illustrates the growing necessity of pollinators such as bees in an agricultural environment.ā€
keep track of your sources + label them. donā€™t just writeĀ ā€œ(SOURCE)ā€ instead if youā€™re using multiple sources use the lazygirl way which is (SA1) or whatever shorthand u have for each source. then when you need to finish your sources you go to your little source document, find the one labelled SA1 and thenĀ ā€œFind+replaceā€ w/the actual source.
integrate quotes so it reads w/clarity which means donā€™t do thisĀ but if youā€™re running late on it and donā€™t have time to look up the quote u want to fit this situation, technically you canĀ ā€œuse anyā€ word you want (56). so yeahĀ ā€œthere isā€ a moral question about it but youĀ ā€œcanā€ make up quotes (79, 90). donā€™tĀ ā€œactuallyā€ do this unless youā€™re seriously in a crunch. which u shouldnā€™t be, bc u managed ur time, right?
running late part 2 (which again would never happen bc you followed my advice and made a little time table for yourself but anyway if it does somehow magically happen) i really recommend using school computers to do your work. ur surrounded by people who will hold u accountable + u will focus
running late pt3 on the day of it being due, around 5 PM, be honest w/yourself and see where you are. if youā€™re likeĀ ā€œit needs 2 more hoursā€ okay. but if youā€™re likeĀ ā€œthis isā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ not startedā€ email the teacher.Ā theyā€™ll be soĀ much more receptive the earlierĀ you do this in the process. it looks likeĀ ā€œiā€™m genuinely struggling and i hope to finish this on time but iā€™m worried i wonā€™tā€ instead ofĀ ā€œi started this at 11:58PM and am asking for an extensionā€. please also justā€¦ be honest?Ā

ā€œhow the fuckĀ do i analyze thisā€. u know how ppl agonize over why an actor breathed in a scene. melt into that kind of thinking. you can literally force the words to mean whatever you want.Ā iā€™ve talked about word choice so specific that i based a 12-page essay on three separate uses of the words ā€œmy dearā€. i talked about the possessiveĀ ā€œmyā€ and how it developed for like 5 of those pages. and always repeat the thesis like a million times. after every analysis you should talk about how it links to the thesis. that is like a free 3 sentences every paragraph.

HOW TO WRITE 20 PAGES (from one girl w/mental illness 2 the rest of u, but please keep in mind all of this is just personal Stuff That Worked for me n u might be different):
first of all, and probably most importantly, make that paper about something you actually give a shit about. if you can write an essay on how long shakespeareā€™s dick is when youā€™re talking to your friends, thatā€™s a good topic. donā€™t choose something u donā€™t care about, you will Want To Die

Regret it!!!!Ā

ask the teacher what timeline theyā€™d recommend. they actually Know.

alwaysĀ ask if itā€™s informal or formal (if you can useĀ ā€œIā€ statements or not). informal essays can rely on personal feelings and are soĀ much easier and trust me if you find out on the day itā€™s due that you could have written 12 pages about your feelings instead of 12 pages of research, you will Be Very Upset
i lie to myself all the time and move the deadline up. i write it in my agenda as at least 2 days before itā€™s due. surprise!!! i tricked u, self!!! you canā€™t procrastinate!!Ā 
agendas/planners need to be what actually worksĀ for you. i liked to prioritize w/colors + keep lists. i really love crossing things offĀ lists. itā€™s likeā€¦ a balm. for me, i usually say i have to finish the first 2 things, start the 3rd thing, andĀ ā€œtouchā€ at least half the list. if i finish the whole list i get a prize. also i get to cross off everything which is so satisfying iā€™m sure itā€™s someoneā€™s idea of a rush. thereā€™s so manyĀ ā€œhow toā€ documents on these that i wonā€™t get into it but frankly?? if you donā€™t write it down you will not remember it.Ā ā€œyes i willā€ no you wonā€™t greg. just do it. write it down. write it where u can see it. not there, greg. greg, somewhere good.Ā my friend is smart af and uses a post-it on her laptop. that doesnā€™t work for me bc i can just? use my hand to cover the anxiety? so choose somewhere good greg.
nervous system, skeleton, meat, skin. nervous system is the thesis. skeleton is quotes/data. meat is the analysis of that data. skin is the fancy transitions + beautification. Ā meat goes on both sides of bone, and skin goes all around. nervous system has to touch everything. do what your teachers have been begging u to do since 3rd grade and start w/an outline. do this whileĀ you read/research. i usually have a starter thesis likeĀ ā€œlady macbeth is a feminist ICONā€ then take the quotes i think fit. but if while youā€™re reading u realize u wanna talk about the use of feminine language and how shakespeare parallels daintiness w/sharpness, u still have a bunch of quotes you can use or not use. this works also w/research papers. just pull what u think is something u wanna talk about. copy-paste it but leave a link to where u got it. then put a bullet point under that says roughly why u mention it
if you just write the outline like youā€™re keeping notes to yourself youā€™d be amazed how quickly you write the essay bc we get stuck in academic language but itā€™s easier to translateĀ ā€œthis is why bees are the #bombā€ into a paragraph. i mean you just rewrite your notes to yourself in academic speech.Ā ā€œThe above passage illustrates the growing necessity of pollinators such as bees in an agricultural environment.ā€
keep track of your sources + label them. donā€™t just writeĀ ā€œ(SOURCE)ā€ instead if youā€™re using multiple sources use the lazygirl way which is (SA1) or whatever shorthand u have for each source. then when you need to finish your sources you go to your little source document, find the one labelled SA1 and thenĀ ā€œFind+replaceā€ w/the actual source.
integrate quotes so it reads w/clarity which means donā€™t do thisĀ but if youā€™re running late on it and donā€™t have time to look up the quote u want to fit this situation, technically you canĀ ā€œuse anyā€ word you want (56). so yeahĀ ā€œthere isā€ a moral question about it but youĀ ā€œcanā€ make up quotes (79, 90). donā€™tĀ ā€œactuallyā€ do this unless youā€™re seriously in a crunch. which u shouldnā€™t be, bc u managed ur time, right?
running late part 2 (which again would never happen bc you followed my advice and made a little time table for yourself but anyway if it does somehow magically happen) i really recommend using school computers to do your work. ur surrounded by people who will hold u accountable + u will focus
running late pt3 on the day of it being due, around 5 PM, be honest w/yourself and see where you are. if youā€™re likeĀ ā€œit needs 2 more hoursā€ okay. but if youā€™re likeĀ ā€œthis isā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ not startedā€ email the teacher.Ā theyā€™ll be soĀ much more receptive the earlierĀ you do this in the process. it looks likeĀ ā€œiā€™m genuinely struggling and i hope to finish this on time but iā€™m worried i wonā€™tā€ instead ofĀ ā€œi started this at 11:58PM and am asking for an extensionā€. please also justā€¦ be honest?Ā
