Hi Sweetie: Hi SWeetie You look Pretty ovi hem today I mean you look So smarttoday much better www.lunarbaboon.com
0marzipan:

Small things really make a big difference.

I like how you reblogged this from me and deleted my comment. Iโ€™ll say it again: thereโ€™s literally nothing wrong with saying your little girl looks pretty.

What I hate about this and things like it is that it acts like being pretty and being smart are mutually exclusive, and that daring to call a woman attractive is somehow discounting her intelligence. How? When someone says a man is handsome I donโ€™t hear anybody screaming that that is somehow discounting his intelligence, so how is it that women canโ€™t receive compliments about their appearance while still being considered intelligent? I also hate how things like this act like caring about your appearance is inherently wrong and all you should be thinking about is being a scientist if youโ€™re a girl. So the first comment had her envisioning being a beautiful woman and looking at herself in the mirror. So what? Would that be so wrong if thatโ€™s how she wanted to grow up? Plenty of girls enjoy dolling themselves up in the mirror to look as good as possible. They make successful careers modeling and acting. They are not less valid than women who decide to be scientists. Tell your daughter she is smart. But donโ€™t expect that to instantly make her more interested in science than she isnโ€™t dolls. If she is more interested in dolls, let her be. If you truly want women to decide for themselves then stop acting like women who like traditionally feminine things are somehow lesser or doing it wrong, and stop treating women like theyโ€™re too stupid to realize that they can be both intelligent and attractive.
