Not only was she fast and athletic, but she looked fabulous while doing so. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € Flo Jo's Olympic performance brought her all kinds of accolades from being named The Associated Press' "Female Athlete of the Year" and Track and Field magazine's "Athlete of the Year." Joyner also won the Sullivan Award for the best amateur athlete. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € Joyner died unexpectedly of an epileptic seizure on September 21, 1998. She was only 38 years old and was survived by her husband and daughter.
