Budweiser’s Super Bowl Ad to Send Pro-Immigration Message – blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In 11 days, DonaldTrump has successfully become the least popular president. In his first few days, he’s issued executive orders to ban abortion, increase mortgage insurance rates and implement a controversial MuslimBan. In turn, millions of people across the globe have filled the streets to protest Trump’s actions. Others have used their platform to express their opposition to Trump’s controversial views and behavior. Some managed to make a stand without initially intending to. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the wake of one of the biggest televised events, Budweiser went out on a limb, allegedly accidently, by creating SuperBowl ad with a strong pro-immigration message titled “Born the Hard Way.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the ad, the company makes viewers aware that “America’s Beer” was created by an immigrant. It chronicles Adolphus Busch’s expedition from Germany to New York to St. Louis, where he meets Eberhard Anheuser, thus catapulting the brand into the fan-favorite, it is. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Although the commercial was created long before the election, the company seemed to have struck a political nerve by coincidence. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “The commercial shows the start of Budweiser’s journey, and while it is set in the 1800’s, it’s a story we believe will resonate with today’s entrepreneurial generation – those who continue to strive for their dreams,” the brewer’s vice president said in a press release. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “When Budweiser told us they wanted to celebrate those who embody the American spirit, we realized the ultimate story lived within their own brand history,” the ad executive said. “Adolphus Busch is the hero of the Anheuser-Busch American dream story, which makes him the perfect protagonist.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It will be interesting to see how everyone reacts to the commercial when it airs live on Sunday.
